Capa ("the App") values your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
1. Information We Collect
- Firebase Anonymous UID (automatically generated)
- Firebase Installation ID (per-app-install identifier, automatically generated)
- Email address (when signing in with Apple/Google)
- Name (when provided by the social sign-in provider)
- Nickname (auto-generated or user-set, displayed when posting comments)
- Bean record data (bean name, origin, process, rating, tasting notes, etc.)
- Bean package photos (when you choose to upload them)
- Recipe data (title, brew steps, drink type, favorite status, run count)
- Comment text (when you post)
- App usage records (number of registered beans, number of recipes, recipe run count and last run time, last access time)
- Bean fingerprint identifier (a de-identified hash derived from entered bean information, used for community aggregation)
- App usage analytics (screen views, feature events, device model, OS version, language, country) — processed via Firebase Analytics
- Advertising identifier (IDFA via AdMob — only when consented through iOS ATT)
2. How We Use Your Information
- Service provision: Storing, viewing, and managing bean records, recipes, and comments
- Data synchronization: Syncing data across your devices
- Fraud prevention and duplicate account detection
- AI-powered features: Temporary transmission to a third-party AI API (Anthropic Claude) for bean package extraction and automatic multilingual translation of comments/recipes
- Community features: Aggregation based on de-identified bean identifiers, display of shared recipes and comments
- Automatic migration of data from guest (anonymous UID) to a social account upon sign-in
- Service improvement: Analyzing usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)
- Advertising: Ad delivery and measurement via Google AdMob
3. Data Retention
- The App operates on a Firebase Anonymous UID or social sign-in (Apple/Google) basis.
- Upon account termination, personally identifiable information and photos are immediately deleted. Recipes, comments, and rating data shared with the community may be retained in anonymized form (to preserve statistical/aggregation integrity).
- Uninstalling the App removes the data stored on your device.
- To request deletion of server-side data associated with your Anonymous UID, please contact us via the email below.
- Data may be retained as required by applicable laws.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Firebase: Data storage, authentication, analytics (Firebase Analytics), Cloud Functions, messaging (United States)
- Anthropic (Claude API): AI processing for bean image/text analysis and automatic translation of comments/recipes (United States)
- Google AdMob: Advertising (United States)
- Apple / Google: Social sign-in authentication (United States)
- We do not share your personal information with any other third parties.
5. Data Deletion
- Personal information is promptly deleted when no longer needed.
- Electronic files are permanently deleted using irrecoverable methods.
6. Your Rights
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
- Uninstalling the App immediately removes data stored on your device. To request deletion of server-side data, please contact us via the email below.
